Bible Reading Meditation:
“What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? … “The wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” Rom 6:1,23.
“O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin” Rom 7:24,25
“I say the truth in Christ. I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost, That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart…” Rom 9:1,2
Introduction:
Today is May 1, 2019, the dawn of another month of human responsibility according to my spiritual life calendar. I awoke this morning with tearful repentance, that as I approached my 67th birthday I am still a slave to the SIN of masturbation. The irony of my situation is I’m a married man with no extra marital affairs. Since my marriage in 1982 I have only had sexual intercourse with my wife. We have four wonder children; yet during certain moments of my life, I am unable to overcome this selfish love desire.
At one point I thought it was because I didn’t see my wife as a hot sexy lady, but I eventually realized this was not the root of my problem. The root of my problem is linked to the current state of our modern society. I have concluded that our modern society is unfit for human beings (as God's children) to live in. It is a toxic environment both internally (spiritually) and externally (physically)[1] and if left unchanged will gradually lead to our extinction. Even the bible validates this through the book of Revelation.
A part of me longs to live absolutely within the domain of God’s true love ideal, thus I attend church, read the holy books, fast and pray regular; yet as St Paul stated in Romans 8:25: “…with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin”. So, my topic of reflection today is “How can we be truly freed of the law of Sin?. For this article I wish to define sin as “Selfish Individual Nature” (S.I.N). So we are going to be reflecting together in search of the root of this nature in our world. Please join me.
My Reflections on the root of sin and how we can be freed from the law of Sin: Part One
a, Where does this unquenchable desire of lust come from?
The desire of lust is rooted in our body as the sin that leads to death (I John 5:10), but where does it come from? Did God give us this unhealthy desire?
RSMM: “So, what is a holy person? What is true beauty and goodness? Is it a sexless person? No. Many people have the confused idea that Jesus was good because he was sexless and conceived without sex. This is false. God created our bodies, including our sexual organs, and He gave us sexual desire. God desires for us to experience sex as an expression of true pure love, not egotistical, self-seeking dirty lustful desire. God gave us sexual desire so that we would desire to become one heart, mind and flesh with our eternal love partner, and come to experience God in the deepest most beautiful way. God wants to inhabit fully the body of a man and make love to a woman.”[2]
From the above quotation of my True Father Rev Dr. Sun Myung Moon, God clearly did not give us the desire of lust. Instead he gave us the sexual desire and the sexual organ for love, but not the mundane love our society has come to glorify but a love that can best be described in English as “True Pure Love”. In the above quote True Father puts it like this: “God gave us sexual desire so that we would desire to become one heart, mind, and flesh with our eternal love partner”.
For men, our sexual organ is first known as an instrument for peeing, but with time we realize it is also the gateway to great pleasure and stress release especially when stimulated by the visual presence of a beautiful nude or partially nude woman. In our modern society today the beauty of a women’s body is no longer private but a free public commodity. No wonder people of certain faith restrict the fashion of their females. Of course, in no way do I condemn a woman’s free expression of fashion, my point here is to emphasize the toxicity of our external social environment when we as human being as still far from perfection.
My only conclusion, after 33 years of sincere struggle with this S.I.N. of masturbation, is that this desire goes deeper then my conscious self. I don't say this just as an excuse for my inadequacy, though that too is true, I am imperfect, but I believe our modern society as the fruit of human development today... breeds corruption and other forms of injustice linked to the sin that led to our spiritual death, and for such sins, prayer, fasting etc. does not same to help[3]. Father Moon had this to say about masturbation and fallen sexual desires:
RSMM: “What is masturbation? It is not just self-pleasuring; it is the spiritual fall. When you masturbate, you are relating to an idea, or an image, or a person or a spirit, and having a selfish sexual experience that has nothing to do with God, or with true love, and is entirely a vehicle for Satan to possess you. Spirits who no longer have a physical body, but who crave the sexual experience, will come to people of like mind and seek sexual pleasure through your body. If you masturbate, you are having sex with a spirit. This is the spiritual fall.”
He states clearly that my condition is linked to the spiritual fall of Adam and Eve. One of the reasons I accepted the teachings of Father Moon as the words of God (Rev 19:13) is his clarity of understanding the nature and purpose of love, in fact, it is he who coined the word “True Love Family Circle” which I use on this blog. As compared to the various mundane ways in which we say “I love you” we are all ignorant of True Love. Just look at the number of babies born out of wedlock! They are all products of mundane love or false love. So True Love is a rare commodity in our modern society.
The bible is clear regarding the true owner of love, it is God, thus we are told in I Jn 4:7,8 that “God is Love”. Father Moon, in the Divine Principle, went further by teaching us the origin of false love vs true love. He taught that the original sin which alienated humankind from God, via the lost Garden of Eden, was “Illicit sexual intercourse” (page 61 section 1.5 Root of Sin). He explained that there were two aspect to this alienation a spiritual and a physical aspect. Due to the spiritual aspect we inherited as pyscho-social disorder called “Fallen Nature from an Angel”; while the physical aspect of the fall led to the birth of humankind with the “blood linage of the same Angel” called Lucifer or the Devil.
Though we were created to be God’s children we lost that heritage through the death of our spirits, when Satan raped Eve in the Garden of Eden. Thus, instead of receiving God’s blood lineage through the True Love of Adam and Eve, we received Satan’s blood lineage and sinful fallen nature. This profound truth “blew my mind” when I first heard it in March of 1979. I cried for hours. While my life has never been the same my struggle with fallen sexual desire has continued to pain my conscience. I began to compare my life as a bastard child growing up without True Parents with the life of all humankind growing up without God.
b. So, we are children of the Devil?
After revealing the root of all sins to us as illicit sexual intercourse, the Devils could no longer hid behind the scene of history for what they really are “an adulterer and the enemy of true love”. Through the Divine Principle, the truth of Lord Jesus' teaching in John 8:44 is made clear:
BIBLE: “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not. Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me? He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God. “ John 8:44-47
Lord Jesus clearly revealed to His followers that humankind inherited the blood lineage of the Devil. Yet so many continue to deny this reality and the fact that Father Moon is the Lord of the Second Coming promised by God in the Bible. Even though He told us clearly the root of his ministry was Jesus Christ we continue to reject the Holy Spirit! So today, after 40 years of failed sincere effort to share His message with friends, family and nation… I realize that nothing can substitute for human responsibility.
For as my mother use to say: “you can lead the horse to the water, but you cannot make him drink”. For years I struggled to make people believe what they were not ready to believe. Our movement was even braided as “brainwashing people”, whatever that means?! I now realize that we each have a unique responsibility to believe “the Word of God” or not! With the variety of spiritual paths and religious institutions existing today it is not easy to know what to believe. So, my series of reflections during this 40th month (1979 to 2019) of responsibility (the 5th month of May) will be dedicated to the topic of physical salvation beyond the grace (spiritual salvation) of Lord Jesus Christ via the Cross. We will discuss in dept and scientifically how we can go beyond the Cross into a restored Garden of Eden on Earth after 2020.
c. Why Children of the Devil and not Children of God?
May I leave you with these final words of God:
RSMM: “Have you overcome your fallen sexual desire? The Old Testament (2000 BC to 4AD) standard of sexual purity was that you must not commit adultery or have sex with anyone other than your spouse. The New Testament (4AD to 2004AD) standard was that you must not look at a woman who is not your wife with sexual desire in your heart. The Completed Testament age (2004 AD to present) standard is that even if a naked woman sits on your lap and attempts to touch and arouse you, you must reject her, unless you have God’s permission to have sex with her. Not only must you reject her, but also if you were a true person (perfect as God in Heaven is perfect) this woman would not even be attractive, or stimulating, as her wrong energy would be repulsive.”
From the above final quotations, we can grasp why the bible refers to all humankind as “children of the Devil”, and why we need a savior or in modern terminology, “A Spiritual Coach” to guide us out of Satan’s Dominion of evil in this limited life span we have on earth. I am very grateful to Lord Jesus Christ for introducing me to Father and Mother Moon as my True Parents.
Their teachings clearly verify the reason why heaven sees all sexual activity outside of marriage as the original sin that leads to spiritual death. Starting with the Law (10 COMMANMENT) given during the Old Testament Age (OTA) until now with the Divine Principle given during this 21st Century as the Completed Testament Age ( CTA), heaven has been striving to send the Messiah to earth so that through His Marriage and life style all humankind could be restored as true children of God’s lineage. This is what St Paul was referring to in Rom 8:19-23.
BIBLE: “For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit (Christians), even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body” (Physical Salvation)”. Rom 8:18-23
He was clearly informing Christians that though we have the “1st Fruit of the Spirit” through the Blood of Jesus, it is not finish as taught by the churches ( read Lord Jesus's words to the 7 churches of Rev 2 & 3). It is not finish because “Death still reigns in our flesh” though we are spiritually saved! Thus we are still under the bondage of corruption and the Dominion of Evil (DOE), evident by our inability to dominate the flesh and its desires.Evident by the prevalence of immorality even in the churches.
Until we can conquer the flesh with the Spirit of Truth, or until we can unite our mind and body centered on the “Word of God”, we will never be able to Build God’s Kingdom on Earth as the fruit of Physical Salvation. Thus, we need the Messiah in the flesh as our life Coach, as our physical True Parents to help us conquer this Body of Death. And the bible agrees with me in Revelation 21: 3-4:
BIBLE: “And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death (Spiritual death), neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” Rev 21: 3-4
Regrettably Satan and his purely evil children have been fighting to block Heaven from sending the Messiah in Glory. Always his path has been one of suffering, pain and even death at the hands of those he came to save.
All because our sense of values linked to our character and our struggle with sexual desires in this modern society is not rooted in God but rather, as is the very root of all sins human beings commit, it is rooted in the Devil. From the smallest crimes of lying and stealing, to the largest sins or crime of murder and fornication. We are all searching for True Love, peace and happiness but remain unable to conquer the desires of the flesh. So, Satan continues to control us behind the scene of history, while rewarding those who submit to him with his fleshly treasures of power, money or endless pleasures of free sex… until physical death. After which we all end up reaping what has been sowed as the fruit of the Second Death (Rev 20). For this singular reason, humankind and the creation still wait for our final adoption (Physical Salvation) as true children of God.

[1] Certain faiths believe that earth is a mixed environment of both good and evil. As we become more “spiritually open” or enlightened even awakened, we become more aware of the toxic environment in which we live. Some even see ghost and other evil being. Today the movie industry focuses on these issues.
[2] This quote is also from "The Family Federation for Cosmic Peace and Unification and the Cosmic Era of Blessed Family", May 4, 1997. Note the reference to God as masculine subject with everything else including a woman as His object partner.
[3] Of course, the grace of spiritual salvation liberates the sinner through the blood of Christ. But it does not resolve the tangible problems resulting from “the sin that leads to death”. Thus, today we have the global spread of homosexuality, free sex and other illicit sexual activities protected under the guise of “human rights”!
